Airbrushed Queen

This is a digitally created image of Mary, Queen of Scots created by the Universiry of Dundee and it makes me sad and mildly annoyed!

I don't know how they did it, or what they based it on, and I'm not qualified to comment in the artistic accuracy of the image - who knows perhaps she looked just like this.

But one thing we can be sure of is that her skin was not as flawless as shown here (the mark on her nose is a printing error in the paper)- even today with the makeup developments and good nutrition very few of us (if any) have completely faultless skin.

So why has she?!  It seems highly improbable, and in my opinion it's wrong.

Have we really got to the stage that even historical figures have to be airbrushed and photoshopped?
