Low Cal hot drinks

One of the things I miss when I'm on my diet is tea and lattes - I like hot drinks.  And whilst tea isn't very calorific, winter is coming (yay!) and having a nice comforting hot drink is part of the joy of the season.

So, in readiness for finishing the diet I've been looking for ideas for hot drinks I can have instead of lattes and hot chocolate.

The first I found, at only 30 calories a cup is Soy Chai Latte - I got addicted to chai whilst I was travelling so I'm very keen to find a low cal alternative.  Hopefully this is it.

Soy Chai Latte

Chai tea bag in hot water
1 tsp honey
2 tbsp light soy milk

The next is as an alternative to mulled wine, which I love but it's loaded with sugar.  At a 100 calories a cup, and containing alcohol this really is one for occasional drinking or sharing with friends.

Spiced apple cider
2 pints Apple cider
Orange zest
Whole cloves
Cinnamon sticks
Simmer for 5 Mins

I'm looking forward to trying both.

Hell smells of bacon

I see Friday's are going to be the most challenging day of the week - the whole office stinks of bacon sandwiches.  It's hell.

Overweight sedentary lifestyle

One of the things about office work is the fact that you're sat down all day and getting very little exercise.  I get up, drive to the office, sit all day, and drive home.

Last night I walked Bubba, but most nights I don't do much in the way of exercise.

Although I'm currently on Lighter Life so it's easier to avoid eating rubbish at work, when I'm back on food I fear it's going to be difficult.

Just a few feet from me is a box full of chocolate and crisps for sale (proceeds to charity), and I'm surrounded by colleagues who seem to be constantly eating something - the young lad next to me gets through at least 2 packets of crisps, 3 chocolate bars and about 7 cans of Pepsi Max (he says he doesn't like the test of water) in a day.

Most of the women in the office who are over 40 are overweight - and I'm just praying I can control myself.

The other 'new' girl (she's actually just moved department within the company) appears to be quite sporty, she runs and owns a horse - when I finish the diet we plan to start doing a half hour run each lunch time (there are showers in the building).

Tomorrow will be a test of my resolve - every Friday morning at 10am everyone has a bacon sandwich!!!

Coming to America

We’ve made it to America - and boy it’s expensive!  We’ve not even been her 24 hours yet so haven’t done much except have a quick afternoon ...
